Etapas

Basic A1

Goals

To understand and use familiar everyday expressions and very basic vocabulary, aimed at meeting the student’s preliminary needs. To be able to interact effectively, in a simple manner.



Basic A2

Goals

To understand sentences and frequently used expressions related to areas of relevance, such as basic personal and family information, local geography and employment.



Intermediate B1

Goals

To understand the main points on recurring topics regularly encountered such as ‘’work’’, ‘’school’’, ‘’leisure’’ etc. To transact in common situations that are likely to arise while travelling in an area where the language is spoken.

Intermediate B2

Goals

To understand the main concepts of complex subjects involving frequently used expressions and abstract topics, including technical discussions within their field of expertise. To produce clear, detailed written and oral explanations on a wide range of subjects, including explaining viewpoints on topical issues and providing counter arguments on these topics.

Advanced C1

Goals

To understand a wide range of challenging and complex subjects and being able to express views spontaneously and fluently. To use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes. To produce clear, concise, well-structured, detailed written and oral communication, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.

Advanced C2

Goals

To understand with comfort, virtually everything encountered both verbally and written. To summarise and paraphrase information from different verbal and written sources, reconstruct arguments and accounts in a coherent presentation. To express views spontaneously, fluently, precisely, differentiating the finer shades of the meaning even in the most complex of situations.

Methodology

Creating a combination of teaching techniques which immerses the student in the second language; ensuring, the student acquires a high level of fluency over a short period of time. This methodology is applied according to the student’s profile, goals and reflects the student/company’s interests and expectations. It is a proven concept that increases the student’s oral and written skills.

The activities performed during the course are drawn from daily work-related situations of the student through the following:

  • Students practise and consolidate the language learned in class in order to self-assess the progress.
  • Use of audio and visual material such as CD-ROMs, DVDs and audio CDSs specifically developed to assist the learning of a second language.
  • Emphasise is given to develop oral communication using appropriate style and vocabulary.
  • Providing regular Assessment Tests.
  • Continual liaison with student’s company or sponsor through Progress and Attendance Reports.

In addition to the Course Book, the following supplementary material is incorporated:

  • Newspaper’s articles,
  • Newspapers and relevant internet articles,
  • Extra/support activities,
  • DVD,
  • Audio CD,
  • CD-ROM.
